OGDENSBURG -- More than 360 students from Heuvelton and Ogdensburg will visit during the Fifth Annual Living History Day at Lighthouse Point Friday.
Fort La Presentation Association hosts the "hands-on history" day that allows students to experience what is was like to live during colonial times.
Demonstrations of open hearth cooking, rope making, colonial lighting, butter churning, colonial dancing and fiddling, weaving, colonial toys, and much more will be held.
Students will complete scavenger hunt questions for a chance to win prizes. The day will end with the firing of cannon.
This event is sponsored by the Fort La Presentation Association, Heuvelton Central School, Ogdensburg City Schools, the Heuvelton Lions Club, the Ogdensburg Teacher's Association, the Heuvelton Teacher’s Association, and the Heuvelton PTA.
