Heuvelton 17-year-old arrested after Amish store break-in; also suspected in Heuvelton, Lisbon, DePeyster thefts

HEUVELTON – A Heuvelton teen stands accused of possession of stolen property in the break-in at an Amish store in DePeyster and is being investigated for other break-ins and thefts in Heuvelton, Lisbon and DePeyster.

Two juvenile were also taken into custody this morning.

Dalton M. LaFlair, 17, 5255 County Rt. 10, was stopped by St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies as he drove a pickup truck early today the vicinity of the West Lake Road Store in DePeyster. Deputies had been alerted by a report of theft at the store.

Several items taken from the store, as well as other items taken in other thefts, were found in the truck, according to deputies.

LaFlair was charged with possession of stolen property and endangering the welfare of a child. He was released on appearance tickets for Oswegatchie Town Court in September.

Deputies said their investigation will continue since they have not been able to locate the owners of all the items believed stolen that LaFlair had with him.

They are asking that anyone with information about the incident to call the sheriff’s office at 379-2222.
