RUSSELL – A Hermon man was arrested for drunk driving at more than three times the legal limit after his vehicle went off the road and struck a tree early today, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Daniel J. Clarke 49, of 259 County Route 24, Hermon, was cited with aggravated driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right after his 2000 Chevrolet pick-up truck crashed on the Lazy River Road shortly before 2:18 a.m.
Deputies said he went off the road and into a ditch, then struck a tree.
He was processed at the sheriff’s office in Canton where his blood alcohol content level was recorded at .26 percent, more than three times the .08 percent legal limit, deputies said.
He was released on appearance tickets, deputies said.
