DEKALB – The Hermon-DeKalb Central School Board of Education will discuss the possibility of sharing services with other districts at a community meeting 7 p.m. Monday, June 11 in the school cafeteria.
District residents are invited to ask questions and offer suggestions about the district’s future educational options. Last year, a study of the 18 St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES districts examined ways schools could share or consolidate services to save money and offer more services for students.
Recently, Hermon-DeKalb board members and Superintendent Ann Adams met with board members and superintendents from the Morristown and Heuvelton school districts to consider options for sharing.
BOCES Superintendent Thomas Burns, Assistant BOCES Superintendent Stephen Todd, Regent James Dawson and state Education Representatives Charles Szuberla met with the group to discuss the issues.
Burns and other BOCES administrators have been invited to attend the June 11 meeting.
