DEKALB -- The academic leaders for the class of 2017 at Hermon-DeKalb Central School are Ryan Morrill, valedictorian, and Selena Wright, salutatorian.
Mr. Morrill, son of Jill and Steve Morrill, will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors and Mastery in Math and Science. He has also completed 24 credits in college level courses and received the Clarkson Leadership Award. He is the President of the National Honor Society, Senior Class President and a member of Student Council and the Yearbook Club. Mr. Morrill has played basketball and soccer throughout his high school career. He will attend Clarkson University in the fall where he will be enrolled in their Engineering and Management program.
Miss Wright, daughter of Joanna Wright, will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma. She has received the Clarkson Achievement Award, the Student Sage Award and the RIT Award for Creativity and Innovation. Miss Wright will attend SUNY Canton in the fall to major in Liberal Studies.
Hermon-DeKalb’s graduation ceremony will be June 23, at 7 p.m.
