HERMON – A Hermon child was airlifted to Syracuse with serious head injuries following an ATV accident Saturday, according to state police.
State police responded to a residence on Jonesville Road in the town of Hermon for an ATV accident.
The investigation revealed that 7-year-old Trey A. D’Agostino of Hermon was operating a 2012 Can-Am ATV in a southwesterly direction on a trail.
His ATV slid backwards down a rock, causing his head to become wedged between the handlebars and a partially fallen tree. D’Agostino was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
D’Agostino was transported by Hermon Rescue to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, and was then air-lifted by LifeNet to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, where he is listed in critical condition with a serious head injury.
