WADDINGTON -- At least two people are in custody following a police chase involving a helicopter near the golf course in Waddington at around 9 a.m. Tuesday.
State police said the suspects were still being processed and charges have not yet been filed, but confirmed that two men fled from troopers following a traffic stop near Brookview Drive.
The chase apparently led through at least one yard and across Little Sucker Brook before one man was reportedly apprehended near the golf course.
A witness who did not wish to be identified said he believed a plastic bag containing money was also recovered, but troopers could not confirm the statement.
As the incident is still being investigated, details regarding the initial traffic stop were not yet available.
The witness also stated that multiple border agents assisted in the search, but troopers who were available to speak to the press could not immediately confirm their presence.
Details regarding the suspect’s identities have not yet been released, but State Police said all parties involved were in custody and no police were injured during the incident.
