CANTON – Two members of the Order of the Eastern Star of the St. Lawrence District recently took a ride on an old-fashioned covered wagon.
Janet Siano, most worthy grand matron, and John Whitney, most worthy grand patron, rode the covered wagon from the parking lot of the Comfort Suites on NYS Hwy. 11.
The wagon was pulled by “Fuel” and “”Diesel,” oxen owned by Annie Robillard of Driven Acres Farm on the Sweeney Road in Potsdam.
The event occurred during a visit by Onalie Beckstead, district deputy grand matron, and David Colbert, district grand lecturer.
In photo below, Sandra Giuliani of Potsdam, wearing overalls, joined Siano and Whitney for a photo with the oxen.
