The old expression “If you don’t like the weather, just wait a minute” is fitting based on the National Weather Service’s prediction that temperatures may raise to a high near 29 degrees Tuesday.
The extreme temperature differences—a whopping -36 in parts of the county this morning—will mean the temp will have risen more than 60 degrees in just over 24 hours.
According to the NWS, snow is predicted to fall tonight, mainly after 10 p.m. The temperature will rise to around 6 degrees by 5 a.m.
Wind chill values will be as low as -11, with an east wind between 3 and 5 mph.
Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
A total nighttime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is possible.
Tomorrow, snow is likely, mainly before 1 p.m.
It will be cloudy, with a high near 29.
A calm wind will come from the west between 4 and 7 mph.
Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is possible.
Daytime temps for the rest of the week range from the high teens to the mid to high 20s.
