The Health Initiative’s Creating Healthy Places St. Lawrence County Project is looking for grant applicants for community development projects that will improve neighborhoods throughout St. Lawrence County.
A grant, up to $6,000, funded by the New York State Department of Health is available for each of five geographic regions in St. Lawrence County to support sustainable, community-based projects which increase physical activity or promote healthy eating.
Funding can not be used for purchases of consumable items, salary, rent, or infrastructure. A 50 percent in-kind match of cash or services is required.
To discuss a project idea, and to receive a grant application, contact Creating Healthy Places Director Karen Bage, at 261-4760, ext. 224 or karen@gethealthyslc.org.
Deadline for receipt of applications is 4 p.m. Oct. 12.
Following review of the application, a representative from the project will be invited to make a presentation to the Creating Healthy Places Committee on Oct. 25.
For more information, or to view previously funded projects visit www.gethealthyslc.org.
