Hazardous weather outlook: snow, sleet, rain, wind expected tonight through Wednesday in St. Lawrence County

A hazardous outlook has been issued for St. Lawrence County with snow, sleet, rain and wind expected tonight through late Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Precipitation is expected to begin late in the day today, eventually coming to an end on Wednesday night, the service says.

Expect widespread snow across the region before mixed precipitation develops Tuesday night before becoming all rain on Wednesday, NWS says.

Snow accumulation will be around one to four inches total, the service says. There could be light ice accumulation as well.

Travel could be impacted lat Tuesday and into Wednesday.

Winds will pick up on Wednesday with gusts in to 30 to 40 mph range expected.

The forecast through the weekend is as follows:

Tuesday

Snow and sleet likely before 3pm, then sleet between 3pm and 4pm, then rain and sleet after 4pm. High near 34. Northeast wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday Night

Rain before 11pm, then rain and snow. Low around 33. East wind 9 to 13 mph becoming south after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday

Rain likely before noon, then a chance of showers between noon and 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Breezy, with a southwest wind 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Wednesday Night

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 11. West wind 6 to 16 mph.

Thursday

Partly sunny, with a high near 22. West wind 6 to 8 mph.

Thursday Night

Partly cloudy, with a low around 8. West wind around 6 mph.

Friday

Partly sunny, with a high near 26. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph.

A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. South wind 6 to 10 mph.
