Jane Desotelle displays a medium balsam wreath with red ribbon and all-natural decorations. Desotelle creates traditional wreaths with balsam, berries, pine cones, and flowers that she grows or gathers from the woods near her home in Franklin County.
CANTON -- Each year, TAUNY works with naturalist and North Country Heritage Award recipient Jane Desotelle to offer handmade balsam wreaths for the holidays.
The annual fundraiser for TAUNY highlights a regional traditional artist who makes her living from the garden and woods around her Adirondack home. All wreaths are made to order with balsam fir and natural decorations. Wreaths are available in three sizes and with various color options.
Prices range from $28 to $45 and can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. for additional shipping charges. Details and order forms are available at TAUNY.org, or at The TAUNY Center, 53 Main St. Orders can also be placed at 386-4289, or folkstore@tauny.org.
