MASSENA -- A Hammond woman is facing multiple counts after driving the wrong way down state Route 37 while possessing drugs early on Tuesday.
Emily A. Livingston, 28, of county Route 3, Hammond is charged with driving the wrong way down a one-way street, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, reckless driving, failure to keep right, unlicensed operator, unlawful possession of marijuana, false personation, possession of a hypodermic needle and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Chief Adam Love said police initially received a call from state police saying that an erratic driver was heading towards the village on state Route 56 and had been spotted near the Route 56 Auto Drive-In.
A short time later, police received a second complaint from a civilian of a driver going the wrong way down state Route 37 near McDonald’s, where they pulled over the vehicle.
The driver, Livingston, allegedly gave a false name and was found with marijuana, buprenorphine and a hypodermic needle. Buprenorphine is the generic form of Suboxone, and police said she did not have a prescription.
She was charged at 12:19 a.m., police said.
Love said they are continuing their investigation into the incident and further charges are pending.
