HAMMOND – State police arrested a Hammond woman who wanted in Tennessee for stealing a vehicle.
Troopers charged Ashley E. Cochran, 33, of Hammond, after they were called to Sand Street Road for a reported dispute. Upon arrival troopers found Cochran was a ‘fugitive from justice’ and was wanted by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee for felony theft of property.
Troopers say Cochran allegedly leased a vehicle, failed to make payments and removed the tracking device.
She was taken into custody and jailed without bail.
The 2004 Ford Expedition was located at the scene and seized by police.
