CANTON -- A Hammond man took a plea offer on Friday that will sentence him to 30 years in state prison for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy, according to the District Attorney’ Office.
Robert M. Petrie, 44, was also ordered to serve 10 years of post-release supervision for five counts of first-degree criminal sexual act.
He was indicted in June for 24 counts of predatory sexual assault against a child and 24 counts of first-degree criminal sexual act. In October, St. Lawrence County Court Judge Jerome Richards partially dismissed the indictment because the grand jury testimony wasn’t enough to rule charges, he decided.
