Richard R. Merrihew, 55, of 307 Indian Point Rd. is charged with second-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, according to the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.
Members of the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, Customs and Border Patrol and Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant at the residence around 3:10 p.m. Friday, deputies said.
Assisting at the scene were members of the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT) and Hammond Volunteer Fire Department.
Merrihew was arraigned in Morristown Town Court by Justice James Phillips and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond, deputies said
