MACOMB -- A Hammond man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after crashing his pickup truck into a utility pole, seating it off, and then striking some trees, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies.
Christopher W. Cardinell, 30, was charged with aggravated DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device and failure to wear a seat belt.
Cardinell was transported to Gouverneur hospital for minor injuries.
He was arraigned in Macomb court and released on appearance tickets.
State police and Gouverneur Fire and Rescue were also on scene.
