Gov. Andrew Cuomo has endorsed Congressman Bill Owens for re-election in New York’s 21st Congressional District.
“Congressman Owens has shown a serious commitment to strengthening New York’s economy and is working hard every day to help create jobs in the state,” said Governor Cuomo of his fellow Democrat. “We need a champion in Washington who will fight for working families and good paying jobs, and that’s why I’m standing with Bill in this election.”
Owens returned the compliment, expressing his support for Cuomo’s efforts to turn around the state government. “Governor Cuomo has been hard at work making the State’s government work better, and I applaud his efforts to do so.”
Owens, from Plattsburgh, is running for re-election in the newly formed 21st Congressional District. He is running against Watertown investor Matt Doheny, Republican, and Donald Hassig of Colton, who will appear on the ballot on the Green Party line is spite of the party’s withdrawal of support for him.
