Gov. Andrew Cuomo has chosen the St. Lawrence Seaway as a transportation tourist destination site worth highlighting.
Cuomo highlighted several scenic and historic transportation destinations and encouraged New Yorkers to consider taking a midsummer trek through the state’s history. The destinations were selected as part of the governor’s “Path Through History” program, which highlights historically and culturally significant sites and events throughout the state.
“From the untamed beauty of Niagara Falls, all along the Erie Canal, and on to the soaring peaks of the Adirondacks, New York State has a multitude of historic attractions that deserve a visit to experience,” Cuomo said.
The program’s website, paththroughhistory.ny.gov/, provides information to plan an itinerary such as site visits, identifying markers on major state highways, and local signage.
