Two Gouverneur women have been charged with possessing and selling prescription narcotics.
State police arrested 22-year-old Brittany A. Barr of Gouverneur Jan. 12, charging her with for the possession and sale of buprenorphine tablets after what investigators called an extensive narcotic investigation.
Buprenorphine is a synthetic opiate.
On Jan. 8, state police arrested 44-year-old Brenda L. Miller of Gouverneur for the sale of Lyrica and hydrocodone pills after an extensive investigation.
Barr was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony, and fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a Class C felony. She was sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
Miller was charged with one count of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a Class D felony, and two counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a Class C felony. She was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
The state police were assisted in these investigations by the Gouverneur Police Department and the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force.
