Alicia M. Nichols, 28, was charged with third-degree grand larceny, felony, troopers said.
She allegedly wrote two checks totaling $8,687.77 to Day Wholesale in Tupper Lake on two separate occasions in July 2013 from an account that contained insufficient funds, officers said.
She was arraigned in Fowler Town Court and released under the supervision of probation and is to reappear in court Aug. 13 at 6 p.m., police said.
