CANTON – A Gouverneur woman has been charged with passing contraband to an inmate during a visit to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, and an Ogdensburg man was charged with possessing opioids there.
According to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies, Katrina M. Roe, 24, was charged with second-degree introducing prison contraband following an incident that was first reported Aug. 5, officers said.
The alleged incident took place Aug. 1.
Roe was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Canton court.
On Aug. 9, Michael W. Mashaw, 29, was found to be in possession of Suboxone, a Schedule Three controlled substance, according to county sheriff’s deputies.
Mashaw was charged with a Class D felony, first-degree possessing dangerous contraband in prison, and a Class A misdemeanor, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was arraigned in Canton Town Court and returned to the county jail on $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond pending his next court appearance.
These two incidents were not reported as related to each other.
