GOUVERNEUR -- A Gouverneur teen was charged after allegedly pulling another person from a vehicle and taking their cellphone to prevent her from calling 911 following a personal-injury collision Nov. 21.
Christopher J. Fuller, 17, was charged at 4:13 p.m. with second-degree harassment, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and speed not reasonable, Gouverneur police said.
Fuller was driving a 2016 red Chevrolet pickup truck on West Main Street when he attempted to turn right onto Wilson Street. His vehicle slid into a 2006 Hyundai, which was stopped at the stop sign on Wilson Street, police said.
Fuller then prevented the other driver from calling 911 by taking her cell phone. Fuller allegedly grabbed the arm of the driver as well and pulled her out of the vehicle.
A passenger in the victim’s vehicle called police.
Police said the passenger sustained a minor injury.
Fuller was arraigned in Gouverneur court by Justice Stan Young and released on his own recognizance to appear in court at a later date.
