GOUVERNEUR – A team of four Gouverneur students won the 2013 Battle of the Books competition presented Saturday by the North Country Library System at St. James Catholic School.
Fourth, fifth and sixth graders representing libraries from Canton, Gouverneur, Edwards, Lisbon, Madrid, Waddington, Hopkinton, Massena, Ogdensburg, Potsdam, Adams, Alexandria Bay, Carthage and Watertown competed.
The champions are the “4 Bookateers” from the Reading Room Association of Gouverneur. Members are Amelia Beaver, Emma McDougall, Skylar Matice and Chloe Dockstader. Their coach is Diane Kelley.
