POTSDAM – A registered sex offender from Gouverneur has been jailed and charged with first degree sexual abuse for allegedly engaging in sexual contact with a person under age 13.
According to St. Lawrence County Detective Sergeant Gus Burns, Robert S. Webb, 50, of 4967 NYS Hwy. 58, Gouverneur, was sent to the St. Lawrence County Facility in lieu of $15,000 cash or $30,000 bail bond following arraignment before Potsdam Town Justice James Mason.
Webb allegedly engaged in the sexual contact last summer in Potsdam, Burns said.
