GOUVERNEUR -- The Village of Gouverneur is receiving $47,500 from the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation to help with the village's design of green infrastructure components.
The estimated total cost of the projects in Gouverneur is $3,317,000.
The plan is to reduce the number of combined sewer overflows into the Oswagatchie River and helping remediate localized flooding in the village, as part of a larger combined sewer separation and overflow abatement Project.
It will reduce stormwater runoff into the combined sewer and will result in reduced energy usage associated with pumping and treating stormwater runoff.
