GOUVERNEUR -- Gouverneur’s mayor says the state budget includes many benefits for St. Lawrence County.
"This year's enacted budget is one for upstate: with a $1.5 billion competition for major economic development and $500 million to expand high speed broadband, it is clear government is working,” Mayor Ronald P. McDougall said.
“The creation of stringent ethical guidelines, among the best in the nation, is more proof of a New Albany.”
McDougall said he was pleased state representatives came to an agreement on time, despite the many issues that made for a tough budget process.
“I applaud the Governor and the Legislature for their dedicated work on these issues and look forward to the inevitable success in the North Country," he said.
