CANTON -- A Gouverneur man facing trial for methamphetamine-related charges pleaded guilty on all counts before the case went to the jury, according to St. Lawrence County District Attorney Mary Rain.
Caleb Rayburn admitted to charges of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, both felonies.
“This case concludes one of the very first meth labs taken down by the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force,” Rain said.
Rain said Rayburn is facing eight years in prison on the controlled substance count and four years for meth-making.
He is to be sentenced June 2 at 8:15 a.m.
Rain said Rayburn decided to plead after District Attorney Investigator Daniel Manor uncovered “additional evidence,” which was presented to the jury.
Rayburn was arrested May 27, 2014 with co-defendants Jackie Reynolds, Randy Reynolds and Jessie Young, all of whom have had their cases resolved, Rain said.
