GOUVERNEUR — A Gouverneur man was jailed Monday night for allegedly grabbing and squeezing a five-year old child by the throat and neck, according to Gouverneur police.
Kody A. Parris, 25, allegedly grabbed the child causing bruising and injuries that required medical attention, officers said.
He was charged at 8:20 p.m. on Sleepy Hollow Road with second-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child.
Paris was arraigned before Justice Travis Dann at Gouverneur court and remanded to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,000 cash bail.
A no contact order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim, police said.
