GOUVERNEUR — A Gouverneur man was jailed Thursday after allegedly threatening a woman with an axe during a domestic dispute on Dodds Road, according to state police.
Police responded to an alleged domestic incident around 4:21 p.m. involving Michael E. Brossoit, 22, troopers said.
He was charged with third-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing, officers said.
Brossoit reportedly took the victim’s cell phone and smashed it on the ground. He then menaced the victim with an axe and threatened her, police said.
He was arraigned in Gouverneur court and remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail on $500 bail, officers said.
