GOUVERNEUR – Gouverneur Department of Public Works will be flushing hydrants soon and is reminding residents that water may be discolored during the process.
Flushing will take place from 11 p.m. October 19 until 7 a.m. Oct. 20, and then again from 11 p.m. Oct. 20 until 7 a.m. Oct. 21.
Residents may notice a loss of water pressure and a slight discoloration of the water. While the water is safe to drink, residents are encouraged to hold off on doing white laundry.
The Town of Gouverneur will also be coordinating their hydrant flushing at the same time.
