The Gouverneur and Star Lake region experienced record-setting low temperatures yesterday with a low of -5 which beat the previous record of zero set in 2005, according to Weather Underground.

The record temps were recorded yesterday at KGTB Wheeler-Sack International Airport in Fort Drum, which is the nearest National Weather Service recording station for the southern portion of the county.

Lows in Canton and Ogdensburg were reportedly -3 which did not come close to the record low of -19 in 1950, Weather Underground said.
