A new record low was set in Gouverneur and Star Lake for the second consecutive day as temperatures dropped to -24 early yesterday morning, according to The Weather Underground.

The cold temps yesterday broke the previous record of -18 which was recorded in 2004 at KGTB Wheeler-Sack International Airport in Fort Drum, which is the nearest National Weather Service recording station for the southern portion of the county.
