GOUVERNEUR – A 16-year-old Gouverneur girl reported missing by her parents was probably in Potsdam during Summer Festival, but her parents say they have yet to hear from her.

Leon and Crystal Wells, the parents of Justine Morgan Wells, are still asking for help in finding their missing daughter.

Justine Morgan Wells, 5’ 1”, 96 pounds, has been missing since Monday, July 11. She was last seen in Gouverneur just after noon that day in a municipal parking lot, and State Police believe that she was seen in Potsdam Thursday, July 14, during the village’s Summer Festival.

Justine has long brown curly hair, blue eyes, a diamond stud nose piercing on the right side, and usually wears glasses, though she also sometimes wears contacts.

She was last seen in a yellow tee shirt and black shorts with white stripes, with a light blue back pack over her shoulder. Her parents believe that Justine has run away.

Her mother Crystal describes her as “very timid and shy and very smart. She is going to be Captain of varsity swim this year and is whole heartedly involved in orchestra. She is a concert buff and loves music. Nirvana is her favorite band. She loves to read and is a total bookworm. Her favorite stores in our mall are Borders, Hot Topics, Spencer’s and Charlotte Rouse. She is a jeans and tee shirt kind of girl and is almost always wearing a rock tee.”

The parents ask anyone with information on their daughter’s whereabouts to call the New York State Police in Gouverneur at 287-2870 or 287-7972.
