Alan L. Garrand appears to have won the Republican primary for DeKalb highway superintendent by one vote.

According to unofficial results from Tuesday’s primary, Garrand received 48 votes, compared to 47 for Donald C. Brown. However, absentee ballots are not included, so it is possible the results could change if any absentee ballots were cast.

In Parishville, Brian T. Gary received 50 votes in the Republican primary for a Town Council position, compared to 27 for Donald E. Tebo Jr.

In Colton, Democrats have chosen two St. Lawrence County Democratic Committee candidates from a pool of four. Victors are Dennis E. Eickhoff with 49 votes and Roger J. Dusharm with 47. Mary F. McKinley received 28 and Daniel C. McNamara, 32.

No write-in votes were recorded in any of the races, according to election officials.
