Republican Congressional candidate Elise Stefanik of Willsboro has been given the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business, which represents and lobbies for small businesses across the country.

“Behind every small business, there is an entrepreneurial spirit,” Stefanik said. “In Congress, I will focus on pro-growth policies that help to create new jobs for our families, and encourage small business owners to invest in the future of the 21st District.”

"Our members back the candidates who support small business and will protect free enterprise,” said NFIB/New York State Director Mike Durant. “Elise Stefanik has shown a deep commitment to reducing the burdens on small businesses and opposing legislation that would make it even harder for them to grow and create jobs. New York can be difficult place for small businesses and it’s critical that we have better representation in Washington. Our members are highly engaged in the election this year and we intend to make a difference,” Durant said.

Stefanik has also released two new ads to be broadcast around the district.

In “Fresh Ideas,” Stefanik repeats several general themes of her campaign so far, such as “No special subsides,” “I’ll read every bill and post every vote on Facebook,” “Repeal Commn Core,” “Equal Pay for Women,” and “Preserve and protect Medicare and Social Security for our seniors,” without any elaboration.

In “Fair Share,” she highlights the “millionaire” status of her Democratic opponent, Aaron Woolf of Elizabethtown and accusing him of wanting more taxes from small business and implying he might not pay his “fair share” of taxes.

Matt Funiciello of Glens Falls is also in the race as the Green Party candidate.
