CANTON -- The annual Pars for Paws tournament held at Partridge Run Golf and Country Club raised nearly $10,000 for the Potsdam Humane Society (PHS).

“We would like to thank all of our sponsors, prize donors, and golfers for their generosity,” said Suzanne Smith, Pars for Paws Tournament Chair and a PHS board president. “The weather was perfect and we had a fantastic turnout.”

More than 60 local businesses supported the tournament through sponsorships and prize donations.

“We would like to extend a special thank you to this year’s $500 Gold Sponsors, Potsdam Agway, MH Studios, T&R Wines and Liquors, and Town & Country Veterinary Clinic,” said Smith. “All of these businesses have been sponsors for our past tournaments as well so we appreciate their ongoing support of PHS and its programs.”

In addition, a gold sponsorship was given in honor of Canton resident Roger Dusharm. “Roger is an avid golfer and has been a great supporter of our tournament since its inception five year ago,” said Smith.

The Potsdam Humane Society (PHS) is a non-profit organization serving 10 towns within St. Lawrence County. Each year, PHS provides services and humane care to around 1,200 animals, as well as educational programs for the community and local schools, a Pets for Veterans program, and a low-cost spay/neuter program.
