Gamblers Anonymous has weekly meetings in St. Lawrence County, and a proposed support group for adoptees could begin meetings soon.

Gamblers Anonymous, a fellowship of men and women who have been affected by the gambling problem and who gather to talk about the problem, and Gam-Anon, a group for family, friends, co-workers and others who are affected, meet regularly in St. Lawrence County.

Meetings of both groups are held in Canton on Tuesday evenings, Massena on Monday nights, and Ogdensburg on Sunday nights. An open meeting, for anyone who wants to know more, will be at 6 pm. Saturday, Sept. 18 at the First United Methodist Church in Watertown, at 236 Mullin St. More info: 482-9445.

Meanwhile, a support group for adoptees, birth moms and siblings is being organized. Anyone interested is asked to call 265-2619.
