MASSENA – A memorial service for Ricky Aslanian of Norfolk, who was killed in a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon, will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Aslanian, 60, reportedly went off the side of State Rt. 30 in Harrietstown in Franklin County, and was thrown from his motorcycle.
The retired Army Captain and Massena Alcoa engineer was taken to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, where he was pronounced dead.
Rev. Elizabeth Papazoglakis will preside at the memorial service.
No visiting hours at the Phillips Memorial Home have been posted.
Aslanian was born in Massena, graduated from Massena Central in 1971, and from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point 1975. He attained the rank of captain, and was honorably discharged in 1980.
He married Sheila Trippany in 1982.
He worked as an engineer at Alcoa Massena Operations until his retirement in 2011.
