GOUVERNEUR – Calling hours for the 18-year-old killed after he laid down in front of a car Friday night have take place today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.

The funeral service for James Gore of Fowler, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church.

St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies said Gore was run over by a vehicle and killed Friday at 10:47 p.m. after he laid in front of a 2001 Toyota at 4127 State Highway 58.

Tyler Sargent, 18, who was leaving the residence, did not see Gore, according to deputies. Sargent allegedly drove the vehicle over Gore, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies are investigating the incident, but no tickets have been issued.

Deputies say alcohol was not believed to be involved.

New York State Police and Gouverneur Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.

Memorial donations may be made out to the Gouverneur High School Student Senate and mailed to the James Gore Memorial Scholarship Gouverneur High School, 113 E. Barney Street, Gouverneur, NY 13642.
