MASSENA -- Friends and family of a Massena man who is out of work due to a heart condition are trying to raise money for the procedure through an online crowdfunding campaign.
Mitch O’Brien recently suffered a heart attack and later learned he has akinesis, meaning there is an 80 percent plaque blockage in his heart, according to a GoFundMe page Brittany Gilbert started.
The page has a $1,000 goal.
“After many tests they sent him home on three different medications and gave him appointments for six different doctor appointments for Burlington … and Plattsburgh … Sadly, Mitch doesn't have insurance and is pulled out of work for the next couple weeks,” Gilbert writes on the page.
The GoFundMe page can be found here.
