The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for Massena, Ogdensburg, Potsdam and Gouverneur as temperatures are expected to drop into the 30's tonight.
The advisory takes effect at midnight and continues until 8 a.m.
According to the national weather service, the temperatures could kill sensitive outdoor plants if they are not covered.
Temperatures are expected to increase throughout the week with a high of 65 degrees predicted for Tuesday and highs in the 70's continuing through Saturday.
