POTSDAM -- Early Friday morning brought the first September frost in six years, according to Weather Underground.
The temperature hit a low of 28 degrees.
In 2008, the first frost came when the temperature hit 30 degrees, also on Sept. 19, Weather Underground said.
The first frost usually hits in October, according to Weather Underground.
In 2013 it came on Oct. 23.
The first frost in 2012 hit on Oct. 9.
In 2011, it occurred on Oct. 6.
It fell on Oct. 19 in 2010 and Oct. 12 in 2009.
Complete data was not available for 2007, but the earliest listed fall date with temperatures below freezing was Oct. 13.
The first frost in 2006 landed on Sept. 30.
Oct. 21 was the date in 2005 and Oct. 5 in 2004.
