Light freezing rain has made for slippery driving and walking conditions across much of St. Lawrence County and today will continue to be a mix of rain, snow and wind, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Many schools in St. Lawrence County have delayed the start of school this morning as freezing rain has made roads and driveways slick.

Extreme caution is urged if traveling or walking outside in parking lots, driveways and sidewalks.
NWS says rain is expected this morning with temps around 40 degrees. Winds will be south at 17 mph with a 90 percent chance of precipitation.
Overnight lows will be around 12 and windy, the service says. Winds of 21 to 26 mph are expected with gusts of 38 mph.
Rain and snow showers are possible before 7 p.m. tonight and then there is a chance of snow showers from 7 p.m. until 4 a.m., NWS says. About a half inch of snow is possible.
Tuesday is expected to be clear with a high of 21 before a snow storm is predicted to drop 4 to 8 inches on St. Lawrence County Tuesday night.

Partly sunny, with a high near 21. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm.
Tuesday Night
Snow, mainly after 8pm. Low around 18. Northeast wind around 9 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
Wednesday
Snow. High near 27. Northeast wind 8 to 11 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Wednesday Night
A 30 percent chance of snow before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 4. West wind 8 to 13 mph.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 16. West wind 7 to 10 mph.

Partly cloudy, with a low around -6. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
