The 2012 Local Food Guide for St. Lawrence County is now available free from GardenShare. The publication lists farms, farm stands, farmers’ markets, u-picks, CSAs and stores that carry local products.
The county is home to more than 50 direct market farmers selling fresh vegetables, apples, berries, cheese, milk, honey, maple products, meat, poultry, eggs and more. The guide also highlights programs that help make local food accessible and affordable to seniors and families with young children. Copies are available at Nature’s Storehouse and Coakley Ace Hardware in Canton, and the Potsdam Food Co-op.
