OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum will offer free admission to military personnel and their families this summer.
"The Frederic Remington Art Museum has been a proud participant in the Blue Star Museums program since 2011. After all, the military was one of Remington's favorite artistic subjects. We hope that offer will bring families and retirees from the larger Ft. Drum community to the museum -- a trip they are bound to enjoy," said museum director, Laura A. Foster.
Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and more than 1,800 museums to offer free admission to service members.
The program will run through Labor Day, Sept. 2.
The free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card, or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card. This includes active duty U.S. military, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps and up to five family members.
Some special or limited-time museum exhibits may not be included in the free admission program.
