OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum will host its ninth International Juried Art Exhibit, opening Oct. 3.

All artists 18 years and older living within a 100-mile radius of Ogdensburg can submit work.

Two-dimensional and three-dimensional works made within the last two years are eligible including paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, photographs, computer generated art, and mixed media.

Two-dimensional work must not exceed 36 inches wide by 72 inches high. Sculpture must not exceed 60 inches high by 24 inches wide and deep.

Up to three digital files will be accepted with a $10 entry fee for museum members, $20 for non-members.

The juror is Canadian artist Michael G. Kraik. Entirely self-taught as a artist, Kraik first began painting in his spare time about 15 years ago. After experimenting with various media, he determined that his interest - North American landscapes and wildlife - was best showcased using oils. The resultant series of paintings, many of which have been seen and sold in juried shows across Canada and in the United States, are of nature unspoiled by human incursion. They are rarely of scenes that exist, but that he considers ought to exist, according to a statement from the museum.

The juried show prospectus is available on the museum’s website or people can submit entries online. Payment can be made online or mailed to the Frederic Remington Art Museum, 303 Washington St., Ogdensburg, NY 13669.

The deadline is Sept. 1.
