DICKINSON -- A Franklin County man died from injuries sustained during a car accident involving a driver from St. Regis Falls Sunday evening on county Route 5 here.
Troopers said they responded to the scene around 11 p.m.
Their investigation revealed that a 2012 Ford Fusion, operated by 20-year old Cody A. Lane of St. Regis Falls, was traveling north on county Route 5 in the Town of Dickinson, troopers said.
Lane's vehicle exited west shoulder of the roadway striking numerous trees causing the vehicle to overturn, according to investigators.
The back seat passenger, 19-year old Anthony M. DeStefano of Malone, was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.
Lane sustained minor injuries, while the front seat passenger, 19-year old Brian M. Doyle of St. Regis Falls, sustained neck and back injuries, officers said.
The accident reportedly remains under investigation in conjunction with the Franklin County District Attorney's Office.
