FOWLER – A Fowler woman was killed after her vehicle was struck another about two miles south of Gouverneur at the intersection of State Rt. 58 and Country Club Road Sunday.

State police said they got the call to the scene at 10:36 a.m., where their investigation revealed John G. Reilly Jr., 93, was traveling south in a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser on Country Club Road when he failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign at the intersection and struck a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Marlene E. Watson, 83, of Gouverneur, who was traveling west on State Highway 58.

The front passenger in Reilly’s vehicle, Anna M. Reilly, 95, of Fowler, was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

John Reilly was transported to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital, with chest pain, back pain and head lacerations. He was listed in stable condition.

Watson was transported to Gouverneur Hospital with a minor knee injury.

On Monday, an autopsy was performed on Anna Reilly by Jefferson County Medical Examiner Dr. Samuel Livingstone at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Livingstone determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma. The manner of death was ruled to be accidental.
