Fowler, Fine, Edwards, Clifton primary voters select candidates for town council, highway superintendent, town justice

Voters in Fowler, Fine, Edwards and Clifton selected candidates for town council, highway superintendent and town justice in primary voting Thursday.

In Fowler, the Republican party picked Karen M. Simmons and Dustin Fayette in a three-way race for two trustee seats. Simmons received 142 votes while Fayette had 111 votes. James Joseph McGregor received 107 votes.

Michael A. Sweeney will run for highway superintendent in Fowler. He gathered 111 votes compared to Randy L. Durham's 80.

In Fine, Tracy Typhair won the Republican nod for highway superintendent with 65 votes, compared to Dean E. Kerr's 25.

Edwards Republicans chose Michele D. Robillard, with 19 votes, and Arthur W. Whitmarsh, with 12, to run for two town council seats.  Lynette M. Denesha received 12 votes.

In Clifton, the same two candidates sought to run for town justice as both a Democrat and Republican.

On the Democrat ticket, John Dragun won, 31 votes to Mark Friden's 15.

The GOP said Freiden will be their candidate, 40 votes to Dragun's 31.

All results are unofficial and do not include absentee ballots.
